Thank you for taking the time to review what we have to offer you at Simply Thrive Psychotherapy.
I believe that establishing a therapeutic relationship is essential to the healing process. Therefore, my primary goal is to build a solid relationship based on trust, in which my clients are able to express themselves and feel heard. This empathic, collaborative and non-judgmental approach allows my clients to feel safe during our work together.
Therapeutically, I work collaboratively with my clients to increase their insight and self-awareness of their needs, thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and how these may influence their lives and relationships. I believe that an increased understanding is the first step to overcoming the challenges we face in life. This allows us to explore the different aspects of who we are to provide us with the opportunity for growth.
The therapeutic approaches I use most frequently include Gestalt Therapy/Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Systemic/Family Therapy. However, I tend to take an integrative approach, so I often incorporate useful therapeutic techniques from many other schools as needed to support my clients in developing self-understanding, improving their sense of well-being, and in achieving their therapeutic goals. I also offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is particularly useful for people who have experienced trauma.
I am a bilingual mental health therapist. I have extensive experience working with diverse populations, adults, children and families. My areas of expertise include: trauma, depression and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, ADHD, childhood mental and developmental disorders, interpersonal concerns, adjustment disorders, life transitions, family of origin issues, multicultural and diversity issues. I routinely provide counseling services in both English and Spanish.
